Directory review

Correction and Removal Policy

Contractor claims, corrections, credential disputes, suppression, and removal requests remain owner reviewed.

Effective date: August 20, 2026

Submit a request

Email the directory review team with the business name, state, profile URL if available, the correction or removal requested, and a reliable way to confirm your authority to make the request.

Email directory support

Do not email sensitive identity documents unless Radon Cost Guide specifically requests them during review.

Available requests

An authorized requester may claim a profile, correct business or contact information, correct a service area, report misleading geography, report a credential discrepancy, request suppression or removal, or ask for reconsideration.

Identity and evidence

Radon Cost Guide may request evidence reasonably needed to verify identity and authority, such as a business email, business-domain access, public registration, credential record, written authorization, or another reliable source. Only information reasonably needed for review should be submitted.

Credential review is separate

Credential records are evaluated separately from general profile claims. A business claim or name correction does not automatically change certification status. Disputed credentials may remain labeled reported, expired, unresolved, or unknown while evidence is reviewed.

Removal and suppression

After verifying authority, Radon Cost Guide will generally honor reasonable requests to suppress or de-index a business profile when doing so does not conflict with a legal obligation, active dispute, fraud review, safety concern, or compelling record-integrity need. Demonstrably inaccurate information should be corrected promptly.

A request may result in correction, annotation, de-indexing, partial suppression, full removal, or no public change. Source records and decision history may be retained internally for audit, security, and dispute purposes.

Review and outcomes

Requests may be approved, partially approved, rejected, held for more information, marked unresolved, or referred for additional review. Approval never automatically publishes a profile, makes it indexable, changes a credential, creates paid status, or guarantees search placement.

Response targets

Radon Cost Guide aims to acknowledge ordinary requests within five business days and complete ordinary reviews within 15 business days when reasonably practical. These are targets, not guaranteed deadlines. Complex, disputed, incomplete, high-volume, or legal matters may take longer. Applicable statutory privacy deadlines control when they apply.

Fraud and reconsideration

Impersonation, falsified documents, fraudulent credential claims, harassment, takeover attempts, and abusive requests may be rejected. A requester may seek reconsideration by identifying the prior request and supplying new evidence or explaining what was overlooked.
