Website terms
Terms of Use
These terms govern use of Radon Cost Guide and its educational, estimation, directory, and request features.
Effective date: August 20, 2026
Acceptance and eligibility
By using Radon Cost Guide, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Anyone may read general educational content, but users must be at least 18 to submit a service request, contractor claim, correction request, or other legally significant submission.
Information—not professional advice
Radon Cost Guide provides general educational and planning information. It does not provide medical, legal, engineering, environmental-consulting, inspection, construction, or contracting advice and does not provide emergency services. Consult the EPA, applicable state programs, qualified professionals, and healthcare professionals where appropriate.
Geographic information and EPA zones cannot determine the radon level of a specific property. Testing is the only way to determine a home's radon level.
Modeled estimates
Estimator results are modeled planning ranges—not contractor quotes, bids, appraisals, diagnoses, or guarantees. Actual pricing depends on the property, market, scope, access, system design, permits, electrical work, travel, and other factors. A reported radon reading does not by itself raise the modeled price.
Contractor directory
Directory information may come from government records, credential directories, contractors, public sources, or independent research. Inclusion, ranking, geographic matching, a profile claim, profile verification, certification verification, or paid placement is not an endorsement unless expressly stated.
Information may be incomplete, outdated, disputed, or incorrect. Users must independently verify identity, current certification, licensing or registration where required, insurance, permits, references, scope, price, contract terms, warranties, post-mitigation testing, and suitability.
Independent professionals
Listed professionals are independent from Radon Cost Guide. Radon Cost Guide does not perform or supervise their work, control their communications or pricing, or become a party to a homeowner-contractor agreement. Professionals remain responsible for their credentials, insurance, permits, representations, contracts, compliance, and services.
Service requests
A request is saved for owner review and is not automatically transmitted. If sharing is activated for an owner-approved request and the user gave the displayed consent, information may be provided to no more than three relevant participating professionals. Submission does not guarantee delivery, acceptance, contact, a quote, or service.
User submissions and acceptable use
Users must provide information they reasonably believe is accurate and must have authority to submit it. Fraud, impersonation, falsified credentials, harassment, malicious code, access-control bypasses, abusive automated requests, unlawful spam, and deceptive solicitation are prohibited.
Third parties and availability
The site may link to government resources, contractor websites, credential directories, and technology providers. Radon Cost Guide does not control every third-party service or guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free availability.
Warranty and liability limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees concerning accuracy, availability, contractor response, project cost, credential status, workmanship, or results. Radon Cost Guide does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
No aggregate liability cap, mandatory consumer arbitration provision, class-action waiver, or broad consumer indemnification clause is adopted in this version. Those provisions require separate legal review.
Suspension, changes, and governing principles
Access to protected features or submissions may be restricted to address fraud, impersonation, abuse, security risk, legal obligations, or violations of these Terms. These Terms may be updated as the service changes. Michigan law is the intended governing law, subject to final attorney review and rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
